Frequently Asked Questions

What type of partial denture is best for me?
Chrome cobalt metal partials offer the thinnest, strongest long-term fit. Flexible Valplast partials provide invisible metal-free aesthetics. Acrylic partials are affordable and easy to modify.
How much do partial dentures cost in Oak Park?
Acrylic partials range from A$950 to A$2,200; flexible partials from A$1,500 to A$2,600; chrome cobalt partials from A$1,950 to A$3,200.
Will a partial denture prevent my remaining teeth from shifting?
Yes! A partial denture fills tooth gaps, preventing adjacent natural teeth from tilting or drifting into empty spaces.
How long do partial dentures last?
Chrome cobalt partials last 10 to 15 years; flexible partials 5 to 8 years; acrylic partials 3 to 5 years before requiring maintenance or relining.
Are partial dentures covered under VDS or DVA?
Yes! VDS vouchers cover partial dentures for eligible concession cardholders. DVA Gold Cards cover 100% of partial denture costs.
Will clasps be visible on my partial denture?
Chrome partials use small cast metal clasps. Flexible Valplast partials use pink, gum-colored clasps that are practically invisible.
Can additional teeth be added if I lose another tooth later?
Yes! Teeth and clasps can easily be added to existing acrylic partial dentures in our on-site lab on the same day as an extraction.
How do I clean my partial denture?
Remove your partial after meals to rinse, brush daily with a soft brush and non-abrasive soap, and soak overnight in cool water.
Do partial dentures hurt to wear?
New partial dentures may cause minor sore spots initially. We provide 6 months of free clinical adjustments to ensure complete comfort.
Can I sleep with my partial denture in place?
We recommend removing partial dentures overnight to allow your natural teeth and gums to breathe and rest.

Our Services Partial Dentures

Partial dentures may be the answer if you are missing a single tooth or multiple teeth

yet retain one or more of your natural dentition.

There are various options when it comes to materials or a combination thereof. There are Chrome alloy partials, acrylic partials or flexible partials (or a combination).  We need to access which material is best used in each situation for each patient. Partial dentures help to maintain the remaining natural teeth while improving appearance and function (eating). Chrome Partial Dentures

Chrome Partial's are a cast alloy.

Chrome partial dentures are durable, thin and very strong. Lately we have been sending some cases to the US or Canada to be laser sintered, a form of 3D printing. This technique is stronger and more accurate than conventional methods. Flexible Partial Dentures

Thermo-plastics are a versatile material often used for their aesthetics and flexibility.

Their greatest asset is there natural appearance. Instead of metal clips they have flexible tissue coloured translucent clips. Invisible Clasps

In some cases we can use clasping (clips) that are largely invisible.

These clasps are made of a very special type of tooth coloured acrylic that renders them all but invisible. There is a small extra fee for this process and it wont suit every patient but please ask if you think that this might be a useful option. Acrylic Partial Denture

This type of denture is made completely from acrylic and usually has wrought stainless steel wire clips to hold them in.

This type of denture is usually the least expensive. It is bulkier and easier to fracture. The advantage however is that they are easier to add teeth or clips onto if other natural teeth are lost down the track Comprehensive Dental Care

Beyond our specialised denture and implant services, we provide a full range of general dentistry.
